Gavi Restaurant Review

I finally tried Gavi last night. I had heard so many good things about it so I figured I should give it a shot. It's located up by Sunrise and Kolb, a bit to the south of Basha's. The area is a really nice, with a couple of other classy resturants in the vicinity, and located right on the base of a mountain.
We got there around 7:30, and since we didn't have reservations, the wait was about half an hour. The hostesses seemed like they weren't a day over 15, the only hostesses I've ever seen wearing flip flops at work. Our wait was extended a bit because they claimed they called our party but we didn't hear it. For some reason I think they were full of BS becaues we were standing right by the entrance, plus, they used the same excuse with a few other people around as well. We eventually got our table but oh wait, the manager came and said there has been a misunderstanding and that table is for someone else, we had to go back and wait again. So far, things were not looking good for this famed resturant.
Five minutes later, we got our table. For the free appetizer (or whatever the heck you call those free things they give you before they rip you off on the meals), they served Anti-Pasta, which I must confess, was one of the most delicious things I've ever had. With just the right amount of peppers, it melted in your mouth. *drools*. Our server was really nice, the food that we ordered didn't take very long and it more than made up for the bad experience we were having before we got to the table. I ordered Chicken Marsala, the portion was HUGE, it was probably the biggest chicken breast I've ever seen. For Dessert, I ordered Tiramisu, and oh boy it was good. But then again, I've never had bad Tiramisu anywhere, but this one was definately in the top bracket of all the Tiramisu I've had. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'd highly recommend it to anybody. It's a great place to take your date, I may cost only a few dollars more per person than lets say Olive Garden, but totally worth it.
